LIFE Choir Series - Eltham. Vic

Come and enjoy a short-term choir series, culminating in a relaxed public performance for family and friends. Our theme this series is "Life". We'll explore repertoire in a variety of genre which may include, but not be limited to, jazz, classical, gospel, pop, rock, folk, global styles, and stage and screen. Our singers are ready and open to anything! Just Sing Something choir series' offer a unique opportunity for adults with previous harmony-singing experience, to engage in an intensive, but friendly and supportive rehearsal environments in a short-term capacity. Ours is a unique "opt-in" model. Unlike other choirs, we don't run an annual or half-year choir program, and this seems to suit many time-poor professionals, parents with dependent children, and those who like to travel during the year. Being in a choir is definitely a team undertaking, and not simply about singing your own notes. Singers are asked to commit to attending all six rehearsals, and MUST be willing and available to perform in our concert, in central Ringwood on Sunday, 22nd November. Call time on concert day is 1pm for a 4pm show, which is expected to finish at approximately 5.30pm. If you are not available for the concert, please don't register for this choir series. NB: There is NO REHEARSAL on Melbourne Cup Day. Singers will receive rehearsal materials by email during the week prior to our first rehearsal. Our Eltham choir will rehearse its own repertoire, as well as songs to be sung in concert with the Just Sing Something choir from Croydon. Repertoire is selected based on the experience and skills of the group, and is not all provided in the first week. Each choir generally sings three songs of their own, and two combined numbers. The online registration process, will prompt each singer to indicate whether they will (1) print music (from pdfs or links) for themselves ($175pp), or (2) have printed copies provided for collection at rehearsal ($195pp). Please note that opting to print for yourself involves 80+ sheets of paper. Singers are asked to provide their own PLAIN BLACK folder with at least 60 plastic sleeves in which to store and order music, program notes and additional information. Digitally recorded vocal tracks and accompaniment backings, are provided to assist home practice. Please contact lucy@justsingsomething.com with any further questions.
