Service Description

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight.... Come and join us as we enjoy this all-time, feel-good favourite, singing "wimoweh" to our heart's content. Pick the part that suits you - with predictable, easy-to-learn harmonies this is the perfect way-in for those who are not confident with harmony singing, but love the way it makes them feel. 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight', was written way back in 1939 by Solomon Linda, who worked as a cleaner and record packer for the Gallo Record Company in Johannesburg. Originally composed in Zulu, it has enjoyed several reincarnations. The Weavers, with Pete Seeger, recorded it in 1951 as 'Wimoweh', and later in 1961 a doo-wop group called The Tokens took it to number one in the USA. Later in 1982, pop group Tight Fit in the UK gave it their own spin. Together we will cradft our own rendition, and you're welcome to record our final result to take home at the end of the evening. Online bookings help us keep you updated about this event. Sing 120: The Lion Sleeps Tonight will be fun and relaxed, and you are very welcome.
