Previous Harmony Singing Experience
FOUR-Week Series & Concert
February 7, 14, 21, 28
Catomore Hall, Wyreena (Croydon)
Friday 1st March, 7.30pm Ringwood Uniting Church
The FREEDOM series is a celebration of the resilience of people everywhere.
This four-week course is designed for energetic adults who like to stand and move while they sing, and who have some previous harmony singing experience. Together we will explore an uplifting collection of songs in four-part harmony, born out of vulnerability, survival, persistence and community. We will learn songs from the past and present, from near and far, using a hybrid method of by-ear and music reading. Rehearsals will be 90-minutes in duration.
Participation at a relaxed concert in Ringwood for friends and family is required. If you are unavailable on the concert date, please do not book into this series. If you don't want to perform, please wait for a series without a concert element (eg: HOLY, or any Sing 120 event).
Rehearsals will be held in Catomore Hall at Wyreena Community Arts Centre in Croydon. Catomore Hall opens out into a beautiful garden space, perfect for our mid-rehearsal break in the balmy February evenings. Seating is available in the hall. Car parking is available on site.
Want a taste? One of the songs we'll be learning is Shosholoza. Have a listen to this rendition by Drackenberg Boys Choir in South Africa.
